See things before they happen with Socialprofiler đź’«

There has been an explosion of technology that collects data about people and their activities. With the growth of such technologies, how can organizations discern between information that is useful, and that which is just “noise”?

The Right Information, at the Right Time.

Data about our lives are collected through an almost limitless number of sources. Smart speakers, fitness trackers, robot vacuum cleaners, etc. have a utilitarian function, but they also collect intelligence about their users, all while performing their functions better and better. We live in a world in which our quality of life, safety, and efficiency can increase as a function of this data, particularly data which comes from social media.

Using digital footprints, traffic records, business details, criminal records, carrier information, property, and other public records, publicly available data information services can help professionals find detailed information about an individual. Yet, how do you find out anything about who this person actually is? Importantly, how does this person’s likes, interests, and “follows” compare to that of the general population?

Will the average person be able to understand how you are unique using Big Data? Not always, as it requires complex comparative analysis.

What is Socialprofiler?

This is where Socialprofiler comes into play. Socialprofiler breaks down a user’s interests by evaluating profiles among numerous social media platforms. We search and identify nuances (such as? – nuances is too broad) that exist within an individual’s interests based on their likes, followings and activites.

How does Socialprofiler work?

How much can social media profiles tell you about a person? Photos, posts, followings - it’s a big field for analysis. In our case, it’s defined by followings, posts, and pictures from social networks, such as: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook.

Using specially developed AI algorithms we can view a full list of people’s interests. Look, how these complex interests can be organized to tell a story about an individual.

Let’s talk about community detection in an easy way.

  • Categorize a person’s following lists into distinct communities with a distinct interest to something with great accuracy. Imagine following several well-known auto brands at once. The more brands you are following, the more interested you are in automotive subjects.

  • Check the topic of the post using analysis of the text and its hashtags. If every post contains the word car, you are clearly interested in automobiles.

  • Detect any distinctive objects or faces in the photos for the post. If the neural network detected a football ball in the picture of each post, the person is close to a football theme. He or she could be a football photographer, a referee, a player, a journalist or even a coach.

A person’s interests change dynamically over the course of a lifetime and a survey will have time to be updated over a lifetime. Social media data gives us a unique opportunity to see everything that happens to a person dynamically and to update their interests instantly. This makes it possible to respond to changes in the real world in a timely manner.

Probably the most popular lawsuit on public data collection is between LinkedIn and companies that parses content posted on its social media network. The Ninth Circuit court affirmed its ruling that the collection of publicly available data does not violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, or CFAA.

For instance, Linkedin allows search robots companies to index their data, and that’s what we are doing with Socialprofiler for Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

  • We only access publicly available data
  • We don’t use leaked data
  • We don’t disrupt functioning of any social network

That’s why our reverse search engine system is totally legal. The data a person leaves behind falls into two types - private & public. Under private data, we understand any data that goes through an encrypted channel to a specific company’s repository or hosted on a personal device. For example, video views on youtube are private data if you don’t disclose it during a survey or photos from your iphone should never be analyzed or tracked by a third party. Conversely, what you post to your friends on instagram, if your account is not private, you agree to share your content with the world and anyone can view your posts.

Is Socialprofiler ethical?

We don’t make decisions, assessments or place value judgements on individuals. We are only looking at what people like, follow and post. We collect social data in a clear way and add categories. Our users can check if the category is correctly assigned by looking through the accounts that are matched to it. As far as we are not making decisions, we are not suggesting to you what to track and search in your particular case. We just give you frequently searched categories by select and other users.

How to get insights using the Socialprofiler?

We compare interests to average persons to get insight such as if the person is three times (3x) more than average, to like dancing or watch videos. We provide an easy to read interface to cut through all the data and provide a graph format like the one shown below.

pic 3. Dashboard allows you to see at a glance what is going on for each person’s interest and dive into the exact account matches. pic.3 Dashboard allows you to see at a glance what is going on for each person’s interest and dive into the exact account matches
